Our Staff News

DAGMARA KUCWAJ
After many year´s service, initially at Fairways Club in Tenerife and latterly at Pueblo Evita in the same role, we announce the departure of Dagmara.
Many of you may not be aware that Dagmara’s home is in Tenerife, where her daughter now lives, and she will return to the island in April.
She will be remembered fondly at Pueblo Evita for commissioning the many murals that you see created within the complex.
Work that our multi-talented maintenance crew carried out under her guidance.

Dagmara gave many years dedicated service to the company and we are sure that those that know her wish her well in her new ventures in Tenerife, as do we.

SARA DE LA RUBIA
With the departure of Dagmara another familiar face will fill the role of Senior Manager for the complex.
As with most of our staff, Sara has been with us for many years and is known to many for her friendly smile and helpful nature at reception. In her own time, over the last few years, Sara has studied and completed a full college course on all aspects of resort and hotel management.
In recognition of this and along with her vast experience with us and her excellent client services skills, Sara will keep a steady eye on all operations along with Emil, our duty manager, continuing to ensure you have the best holiday you can.

Live Music in Malaga

The live music scene in Malaga is phenomenal with the bands and gigs playing all kinds of songs ranging from pop, rock, blues, soul etc. The Mediterranean climate, the great ambience and the melodious tunes sets the mood for a pleasurable time, whether you are spending time with your family or just hanging out with friends.

Entertainment bars such as ZZ club and Velvet Club offer various musical events that transport you to the wonderful world of music where you can enjoy the compositions of many international artists.
ZZ PUB first opened its doors in 1991, in Torremolinos, and is amongst the very few Live music scenes in Málaga. The club has frequent live music concerts and also is a great place for music lovers to enjoy different genres of music such as rock, soul music, indie, blues, funk, etc. The place also offers their own collection of merchandise. zzpub.es

Off the beaten track - Villages & Small Towns

Villages of the Guadalhorce Valley
Easily accessible from Malaga are a series of villages nestling in the Guadalhorce valley. The closest to Malaga on the A357 is Cártama, once a strategic stronghold for the Romans and the Moors who built a castle there. Just beyond is the small but historically interesting Pizarra. Further north is Álora, the biggest place along this route, with steep, cobbled streets leading up to a ruined Moorish...

Pueblos Blancos of the Serranía de Ronda

The mountain range of the Serranía de Ronda is dotted with many hilltop whitewashed villages topped by Moorish castles. Since the 19th century when it attracted a whole host of illustrious visitors, the most popular of these has undoubtedly been Ronda. In a much-photographed stunning position on the top of the sheer-sided Tajo gorge, Ronda is remarkably appealing with a beautifully preserved old town and many great bars and restaurants...

Northern Historic Villages
The main town to the north of Malaga city is Antequera, a town almost buried under its weighty, rich history with a plethora of monuments, such as a scattering of prehistoric dolmens, a Moorish castle, Roman baths and many fine churches. It´s a good base for exploring the three impressive natural sites nearby: the weirdly eroded limestone landscape of the Torcal de Antequera Natural Park, the magnificent gorge of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Park...

Remote Villages of the Axarquía Region

The regional capital of this mountainous area is Vélez-Málaga, a market town well worth a visit with a lively market on Thursday. The limestone mountain range of the Sierra Almijara, part of the immense Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park that straddles Malaga and Granada provinces, looms over the picturesque Moorish village of Frigiliana only 7km north of the coast and Nerja, Cómpeta...

Pueblo Evita has talent

THE CARNAVAL IN BENALMADENA
Once more, Pueblo Evita dresses up for the Carnaval with some of our staff. Paco Carmona, as we have mentioned in other issues, is part of a big family, and every year, they all get together and join the tradition. All their dresses and gowns are hand-made by themselves which takes them careful thought and elaboration for months before in an effort to surprise the public and the judges by their great work.

Benalmádena Carnaval is becoming more popular each year as more and more families and friends take part in this competition, not necessarily for the prize money but for the great fun they all have and with the aim to keep the tradition going and passed onto younger generations.

This year their theme was “La Mari se posa” which is a play on words and means The Mary lands, Mari being shortened for Maria and where mariposa means butterfly. Ladies were dressed as butterflies and men as explorers, wonderful work!
